Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our new store opening in Carryduff. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the store, including sales, customer service, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Relations / Selling Skills - Provide exceptional customer service, assess and satisfy customer needs, and identify opportunities to increase sales.
  • Commercial and Business Acumen - Proactively seek opportunities for increased business, stay aware of competition, and support new directions and initiatives.
  • Leadership / Taking Responsibility - Accountable for the day-to-day running of the store, manage staff, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Legislation - Ensure correct implementation of legislation affecting the business, including health and safety, licensing, and trading standards.
  • Organisation and Planning - Plan, prioritize, and organize work to optimize resource use and meet deadlines.
  • Maximises Resources - Operate the store in accordance with agreed targets and budgets, including sales, stock loss, stock levels, man hours, and operating costs.
  • Quality Emphasis - Commit to setting and maintaining high store and personal standards, with excellent merchandising skills.
  • Motivating Others - Encourage team effort, build cohesion, and maintain motivation.
  • Staff Training and Development - Understand and deliver training and development needs of team members, gain willing cooperation, and provide regular feedback.
  • Effective Administration - Accurately adhere to company administration systems, including cash, stock, payroll, and marketing.
  • Problem Solving - Anticipate and identify problems, use analytical and investigative skills, and propose solutions.

Requirements

  • Essential - Good standard of education, including 5 GCSEs with English Language and Maths or equivalent (Grade C or above), or 1 year previous supervisory or management experience in a retail or customer-focused environment.
  • Desirable - WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification that relates to the retail industry.
  • Skills and Experience - Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer-focused environment, excellent standard of dress and appearance, communication skills, customer-focused, personal drive, and a valid driving license.
