About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Graduate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing software tools for data management, working closely with our users to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop software tools for data management, using a range of programming languages and technologies, including Python, Apache Kafka, and Rust.
  • Work closely with our users to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of our software tools, including back-end services, front-end tools, and interactive computing platforms.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure that our software tools are of high quality, reliable, and meet the needs of our users.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience of developing in Python, including knowledge of techniques for software testing and version control.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate within a team, and influence people with various roles and backgrounds.
  • Passion for solving problems using engineering practices and willingness to develop your skills.
