Job Title: Neonatal Sister

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Sister to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Neonatal Sister, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management in the care of neonates and their families.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in neonatal nursing, with experience in managing a team and providing high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for coordinating the nursing team in delivering effective quality care, following a patient-centered model of practice, in accordance with local, Service Line, and Trust policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and managerial support relating to the provision of neonatal services
  • Assist the team leader in the administrative management, supervision, and support of a team of nurses and ancillary staff
  • Participate in Network NICU service development
  • Initiate evidence-based practice and actively participate in neonatal research
  • Contribute to resource management in the provision of neonatal services
  • Engage in Clinical Governance initiatives within the Directorate
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in neonatal intensive care at Band 5
  • Demonstrable experience of teaching and mentorship
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

  • Management and leadership skills
  • Enhanced clinical practice skills
