Job Opportunity

Our esteemed client, a leading water industry company, is seeking a skilled Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join their team on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will work on various water and wastewater treatment projects across the Wessex region, utilizing their expertise in clean and dirty water commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Health and Safety: Ensure the commissioning phase of the project is conducted with the utmost care for the health and safety of all personnel involved.
  2. Progress Updates: Provide regular updates to the Commissioning Manager, highlighting progress and raising any concerns that may arise.
  3. Quality and Standards: Ensure that commissioning is carried out to the highest standards of quality, adhering to industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
  4. Method Statements and Risk Assessments: Develop and review method statements and risk assessments for all commissioning-related activities, guaranteeing a safe and efficient working environment.
  5. Commissioning Plans and Training: Assist in the creation of commissioning plans, inspection test plans, and training manuals, ensuring that all personnel are adequately prepared for the commissioning process.
  6. Site Acceptance Tests and Telemetry: Collaborate with the systems integration team to conduct site acceptance tests and telemetry commissioning, ensuring seamless integration of all systems.
  7. P&ID Diagrams and Commissioning Strategies: Review P&ID diagrams and develop strategies for commissioning plant and equipment, aligning with client specifications while minimizing risk and ensuring process integrity.
  8. Commissioning Meetings and Factory Acceptance Testing: Attend commissioning meetings with client representatives from engineering and operational teams, and undertake factory acceptance testing for major items of plant.
  9. Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison: Establish effective communication with suppliers and subcontractors throughout the on-site commissioning process, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  10. NICEIC Electrical Installation Testing: Conduct or supervise NICEIC electrical installation testing to C&G qualifications, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
  11. CSCS Card and Industry Knowledge: Possess a CSCS card and demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, as well as a strong background in the water and wastewater industry.
