Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of electrical building services installations within the trust, in line with current policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work, including planned preventive maintenance and laboring, including electrical shutdowns.
  • Perform tasks such as servicing, maintenance, and repair of electrical building services installations, including plant and equipment.
  • Work from drawings without supervision and demonstrate a multi-skilled approach to work.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in basic electrical installations, plant, and equipment, and pass on knowledge to others.
Requirements
  • Experience of carrying out electrical maintenance work of a semi-skilled nature in a building services environment, to an NVQ3 level or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving license (manual).
  • Basic electrical theory, fault finding, and testing, safe isolation, disconnection, and reinstatement of electrical equipment.
  • Good knowledge of general engineering techniques and other trades allied to building services.
Desirable Criteria
  • 18th Edition IEE regulations.
  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certificate.
  • Certified training in confined space working.
  • City & Guilds 2377 certificate of competence for the inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

  • Self-motivated, able to work individually and as a team member, willing to take on new ideas and training as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, courteous, tactful, and well-presented.
  • Able to liaise with managers and hospital staff of all levels.
Language Requirement

Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.
