Title: Renal Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Band: 6

Location: University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust

Hours of Duty: Variable hours per week

Accountability: Managerially accountable to the Senior Sister and professionally accountable to the Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist / Matron.

Key Relationships:

  • All members of the Directorate Management Team
  • Administration and clerical personnel
  • Medical, nursing, and midwifery staff
  • External contacts, including patients and visitors

Main Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated Band 6 nurse to join the Chronic Kidney Disease multidisciplinary team on a temporary basis to provide coverage for maternity leave.

Experience in educating junior colleagues and patients, both individually and in group settings, is highly beneficial, as the team contributes to an internal education program and conducts patient group education sessions.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal specialist care for patients.

We seek an individual who is highly motivated, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and is committed to ongoing professional development. Strong clinical, communication, and IT skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of study at degree level (or progress towards) in Health/Nursing Related Studies
  • Formal leadership training, such as ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Current driving license
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in Renal nursing
