About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Police Custody Nurse to join our team at Care & Custody - A Mitie Company. As a Police Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to detainees in custody suites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to detainees in custody suites, working closely with police officers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct health assessments, administer medication, and provide wound care as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each detainee.
  • Collaborate with police officers and other stakeholders to ensure the safe and secure transfer of detainees.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in forensic healthcare.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field, such as General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, or Ambulance Service.
  • Valid driving license and ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to pass police vetting and maintain confidentiality.
