About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our team at TACT West Midlands. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting and supervising foster families to meet the complex needs of looked-after young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert social work support and supervision to foster families, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with foster families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor the well-being and safety of children and young people in foster care.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and educators, to provide comprehensive support to foster families and children.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and family.
  • Provide training and guidance to foster families on topics such as child development, trauma-informed care, and attachment theory.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of practice.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering or family placements.
  • Proven track record of working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
  • Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and self-organize efficiently.
  • Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.
