Job Summary

TACT (The Adolescent & Childrens Trust) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in the West Midlands. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert supervision and support to foster families, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster families, including regular home visits and reviews.
  • Work closely with foster families to identify and address any challenges or concerns, and provide guidance and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and young people.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and reviews of foster placements, ensuring that they meet the needs of the children and young people.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans for each foster placement, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and young person.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure that the needs of the children and young people are met.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and ensure that foster placements are compliant with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering or a related field.
  • Up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven track record of working with and on behalf of children and young people, with a focus on promoting their positive development and well-being.
  • Experience of working with foster families and supporting them to meet the complex needs of the children and young people in their care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
