Day Support Specialist for Autism Program

Communitas, Inc. is dedicated to delivering individualized, family-centered services, programs, and support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, throughout their lifespan and in their communities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Day Support Specialist to join our Autism Program in Wakefield, MA. As a Day Support Specialist, you will be responsible for teaching communication, social, and daily living skills to individuals with autism in a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills to individuals with autism
  • Support individuals in a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio setting
  • Develop and implement activities that promote personal choice, community inclusion, dignity, and respect
  • Actively participate in interventions and provide positive, knowledgeable support to employees and managers
  • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with their physical needs and defined support plans

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation
  • A passion and dedication to supporting individuals with autism
