We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Southfields Veterinary Specialists. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with and perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonography, radiography, and fluoroscopy.
- Work closely with senior imaging nurses, deputy nurse managers, and specialized imaging radiologists to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Operate highly specialized imaging equipment, oversee equipment performance and image quality, and position patients to a high diagnostic and clinical standard.
- Resolve logistical and technical imaging system faults, and handle internal and external image and report requests.
- Perform general registered nursing duties, including anaesthesia monitoring, intravenous catheter placement, drug dosage calculation, handling, and administration, blood sampling, and laboratory duties.
- Oversee all aspects of radiation within your daily department allocation, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification and experience in diagnostic imaging.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early, mid, and late shifts, and contribute to a 2:8 weekend and Bank Holiday rota.
