Job Description

The Office for Nuclear Regulation is seeking a Nuclear Safety Inspector with expertise in Human Factors to join our team. As a Nuclear Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of nuclear facilities in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of nuclear facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve nuclear safety and reduce risks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address human factors issues that impact nuclear safety
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on human factors to licensees and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as human factors, psychology, or engineering
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, such as the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
  • Experience of working in the nuclear sector, with a strong understanding of human factors principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
