Flood Risk Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting in the preparation of flood risk assessments for various projects, conducting hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and supporting the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems and flood mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of flood risk assessments for a variety of projects.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software to assess flood risks.
- Support the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and flood mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide technical input on flood risk and water management issues.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, including flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and environmental impact assessments.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, guidance, and industry best practices related to flood risk and water resources.
- Participate in site visits to gather data and conduct inspections, where required.
- A degree in civil engineering, environmental science, geography, or a related field.
- Knowledge of flood risk assessment methodologies and flood modelling techniques.
- Experience with hydrological or hydraulic modelling software (experience with specific programs is a plus, but training will be provided).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- A passion for environmental sustainability and flood risk management.
