Job Title: Underwriter - International Property

AXA XL is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team in London, UK. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for delivering a profitable 'Underwriting' service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite business within agreed business plans and individual authority
  • Support business planning and forecasting processes
  • Monitor financial exposure within outlined limits
  • Monitor premium income to ensure it remains within set limits
  • Maintain awareness of all claims advised and support settlement of claims
  • Ensure adequate reinsurance acquired to cover specific risks
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients
  • Support design and structure of risks
Requirements:
  • Underwriting experience within the London market
  • Technical knowledge and experience of the insurance industry, specifically in the Property class of business
  • Proven analytical, negotiation, and sales skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal Savvy - ability to build and maintain insured and broker contacts
  • Ability to develop and understand business processes, strategy, and planning
  • Collaborative team player with creative solutions and ideas for resolution
