Key Responsibilities:
As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, your role will involve supporting the Transport team by performing maintenance and repairs on HGVs, LGVs, and vans. You will ensure all work is conducted in line with industry standards, including:
- Conducting preventative maintenance and servicing, preparing vehicles for MOT, and executing repairs or replacements of defective components while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
- Performing road tests and managing administrative tasks such as record keeping.
- Being available for on-call duties during winter months to assist with vehicle breakdowns, particularly for our fleet of gritters.
Candidate Profile:
This Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician position is ideal for you if:
- You possess an NVQ Level 2 qualification or are fully qualified, along with a valid HGV driving license (training for a HGV license can be provided).
- You have demonstrated experience as a vehicle technician.
- You are comfortable with the maintenance of plant and machinery.
