Key Responsibilities:
- Manage depositary relationships for allocated clients, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and industry best practices.
- Deliver day-to-day UK Depositary Services functions in accordance with Depositary best practices.
- Ensure all Depositary obligations are successfully adhered to through establishing and monitoring applicable procedures and controls.
- Provide client support on a day-to-day basis, supporting the implementation of regulatory changes impacting clients and managing client-led change activity.
- Maintain and develop client relationships to achieve high levels of client satisfaction and optimize Northern Trust Corporation's commercial positioning in the UK Depositary Services industry.
- Support due diligence and on-site inspections of relevant third parties, requiring independent operation.
- Collaborate with a client-facing team as a key member.
- Engage in ongoing liaison with the pan-European Depositary Operations function.
- Monitor the regulatory environment and assess business impact.
- Operate independently, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the depositary business unit/function.
- Balance high-level operational execution and development with client-level strategic direction and relationship management.
- Interact directly with different committees and/or management.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of UK Funds operating models and fund administration arrangements.
- Awareness of key UK regulations applicable to the fund and depositary banking industry.
- Understanding of portfolio investment strategies/asset classes.
- Good level of communication and relationship management skills.
- Team player with demonstrable NT values and cultural synergies.
- College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience required.
- Previous experience in a similar function in a custodian bank, securities industry, or investment management firm offering the full fund administration suite of services.
- Previous relevant risk management, legal, and compliance experience an advantage.
