We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity to join our team at Foodbuy as a Strategic Finance Partner. This prominent position is essential for overseeing the pricing strategies of high-value sector contracts, playing a crucial role in enhancing profitability while ensuring compliance with contract governance.
The Strategic Finance Partner will concentrate on comprehending contract specifics and collaborating with the Compass team to optimize profitability through a deep understanding of Foodbuy's financial pricing mechanisms and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in business partnering within a sector of the Compass organization, ensuring robust data-driven decision-making, managing pricing frameworks, and identifying commercial opportunities.
  • Offer pricing support to the business in formulating, influencing, and executing the overall contract strategy.
  • Establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Pricing, Procurement, and Sector teams.
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to continuously develop KPIs, ensuring focus on metrics that drive profitability.
  • Manage, track, and identify opportunities related to current and future pricing of products/menus and switches.
  • Oversee forecasting and governance of contract pricing adherence, highlighting and managing risks and opportunities associated with contract requirements.
  • Calculate and manage financial risks and opportunities arising from volumetric and other contract mechanisms.
  • Take ownership of price file results and report performance against audit standards.
  • Ensure timely management of monthly/quarterly price updates, achieving 100% delivery of results.
  • Prepare and review monthly management information, including detailed product analysis and performance reporting.
  • Compile monthly business review packs and present findings at Sector/client meetings.
  • Deliver proactive ad-hoc financial analyses to support business unit decision-making.
  • Maintain visibility at business head offices to assist operators as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to work under tight deadlines, think commercially, and provide insights and options derived from raw data to final outcomes. They will be an initiative-driven individual with strong commercial acumen, technical skills, and high integrity. Additionally, they will possess:
  • Experience in commercial analysis/business partnering with senior stakeholders, capable of challenging, influencing, and persuading at all levels.
  • Confidence in making decisions, providing recommendations, and advising teams.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing complex spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial finance, enhancing business results and adding value.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and logically.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and present information succinctly.
  • A drive for innovation and continuous improvement.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in a procurement/food & non-food service or pricing service organization.
Good working knowledge of SAP, data systems, and data manipulation is preferred.
