Job Summary

The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 442 pupils on roll. All our pupils have special learning needs and some have physical/ medical difficulties. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with significant medical needs in the Primary Phase at our John Jamieson site. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of the class team and receive full training as appropriate. The role is temporary to cover maternity leave for up to one year, but could end earlier depending on the return of the maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the pupil's learning and personal needs, working closely with the teaching staff and other support workers to ensure the pupil's needs are met. The role will require flexibility and adaptability, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.
