As a Workshop Controller for the Arnold Clark Group, you'll work closely with the Service Manager to deliver exceptional productivity and quality standards in our workshop. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to meet targets and business objectives.
  • Oversee the completion of servicing work to the highest standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure all working practices adhere to company, regulatory, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and departments to provide seamless customer service.
  • Schedule work to meet customer needs, considering workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
  • Provide accurate estimates for servicing and repairs, setting realistic timescales.
  • Assist technicians with technical challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Accurately record technician time and document technical reports and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles.
  • High levels of organization and accuracy.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets and deliver high-quality work.
  • Capacity to create new work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner.
