AWE Plc is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Operations Support Technician to become a vital member of our Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) Communications and IT team. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with team members and end users to ensure the effectiveness of our operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution of specific tasks adhering to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Conducting routine maintenance on secure communications and IT equipment.
  • Overseeing defective equipment to sustain operational readiness.
  • Providing logistical assistance for training and exercise programs.
  • Contributing to ongoing improvement by identifying and documenting lessons learned and capability gaps.
  • Potentially fulfilling safety-related roles, including Work Supervisor, Instructed or Nominated Person Electrical, COSHH or Risk Assessor, and Radioactive Source Authorised User.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A full, clean driving license.
  • Experience in maintaining IT and communications equipment.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety standards.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in operational roles.
  • Familiarity with IT and secure communications equipment in operational contexts.

Candidates must be prepared to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this position.
