The Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) Operations team at AWE is seeking a skilled individual to assist in logistical operations and the upkeep of operational capabilities essential for delivering the response functions that NTR engages in while collaborating with various government entities. This role encompasses involvement in projects, training sessions, exercises, and actual deployments.

Nuclear Operations Support Specialist

Location: Reading

Salary: £28,420- £36,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

In this position, responsibilities will include operational planning, learning and development, capability management, and validation tasks, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, while also contributing to the advancement of future operational response requirements.

Key qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

  • A valid, clean Category C+E DVLA license, along with current associated certifications including CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • Significant experience operating commercial goods vehicles

Preferred qualifications may include:

  • Forklift Truck certification - either B1 or lorry demountable
  • Slinging & Lifting / LOLER certification
  • ADR Class 7 certification
  • Experience and skills in equipment maintenance

Applicants should also possess the following attributes:

  • Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and adaptability to changing situations
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
  • Minimal supervision required
  • A high commitment to safety and security standards
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally as needed

Candidates must be prepared to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role.
