Job Summary

This is a highly valued and key role within the UK Raytheon business, supporting a functional team in a contracts and commercial specialist capacity. As the sole expert for a significant programme, you will be a business enabler, supporting the winning and subsequent delivery of a profitable business. You will provide contractual and commercial governance to your team, ensuring all other areas of the business are fully supported in your contracting area.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and present business case briefings and financial reports for senior reviews.
  2. Review and approve contracts, gates, financial changes, and other contractual documents within delegated authority.
  3. Provide full support and leadership to contract/agreement negotiations, ensuring effective commercial risk management and mitigation.
  4. Support the development, approval, and issuance of bids and proposals, whether in response to RFP/ITN or as part of the company strategy.
  5. Provide guidance on establishing commercial risk and effective mitigation, ensuring processes are followed effectively.
  6. Resolve all commercial issues promptly and effectively as the point of escalation.
  7. Drive change and improvement initiatives, championing best practices and commercial excellence.
Requirements
  1. Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a commercial or defence contracting field.
  2. Excellent commercial awareness, business principles, and governing law knowledge.
  3. Experience in all aspects of commercial and defence contracting, with a strong track record of problem-solving and driving performance through others.
  4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels with internal and external customers.
  5. Positive, self-motivated, and able to work independently, with a willingness and ability to travel as required.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Accreditation in Commercial and Supply Chain Management.
  2. Eligibility to obtain security clearance beyond the baseline personnel security standard.
  3. Strong programme management skills, including risk management and programme metrics.
  4. Experience working with international suppliers or customers.
