Lead Obstetric Sonographer Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Lead Sonographer to join our growing ultrasound team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead ultrasound services across our sites at Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, and Elstree. As a Lead Sonographer, you will be responsible for leading governance, quality assurance, teaching, and supervision, in addition to a complex clinical caseload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on governance, quality assurance, teaching, and supervision
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team including sonographers, trainee sonographers, assistant practitioners, and assistants working in the ultrasound department
  • Collaborate with other Lead Sonographers, Lead Radiographers, Consultants, and Radiology Service Managers
Requirements
  • DMU or PgD in Ultrasound Management qualification
  • MSc in healthcare-related science or business/service management
  • HCPC/NMC/RCT registration or equivalent registration with a professional body
  • Advanced clinical study
Knowledge and Experience
  • Complex knowledge of pathologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Governance and Risk
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Proficient NHS ultrasound experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and general medical ultrasound
