Job Summary

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic specialist pharmacist to lead the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of clinical knowledge and the ambition to develop this role.

Main Duties

Lead the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team

Coordinate the pharmacy service to clinical trials and research involving investigational medicinal products

Participate in the pharmaceutical services of the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, including clinical pharmacy, aseptic services, and in-patient services

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • MPharm or equivalent
  • Registered with GPhC
  • Postgraduate diploma qualification in clinical pharmacy (or relevant experience)

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • NMP qualification
  • Membership of the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacist Group Independent Prescribing qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Delivery of Clinical Pharmacy services
  • Experience of personnel management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Paediatric pharmacy experience
  • Experience of working with Clinical Trials

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work on own initiative, is self-motivated and takes responsibility for work and delivers work on time to professional standards
  • In-depth knowledge of medicines management

Desirable

  • Experience of drug use in clinical trials
  • Experience of service development
