Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Isle of Wight. As a General Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to approximately 1100 patients, working closely with the on-site Lead GP, GPs, and ANPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
- Prescribe for patients, regularly review medications, and monitor repeat prescriptions.
- Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
- Diagnose, investigate, treat, and refer as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways.
Requirements
- MBChB or MBBS qualification.
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these.

Salary and Benefits
This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, with an annual salary up to £120,000 per annum depending on experience. We also offer a Golden Hello of £3,000 (£1,000 in 6 months of service, £1,000 after 12 months, and £1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply).
