Job Overview

The East of England Ambulance Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager to join its Finance Team. This is a senior corporate level role that requires a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and leadership.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury Management functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Act as the main Finance contact for contract management of Payroll services, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance, service delivery, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Deputy Director of Finance - Financial Services & Accounting and Director of Finance.
  • Manage the production of timely, consistent, and accurate financial reports, including annual accounts and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with key financial policy documents and regulations, including VAT and HMRC requirements.
  • Develop and implement Trust-wide financial policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with national policies and strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance Team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • CCAB qualification and advanced specialist knowledge of the NHS financial regime.
  • Expertise in planning, policy development, and information analysis.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Organisational skills to prioritise and meet deadlines, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive communication.
  • Significant experience in a financial management role, with people management and supervision skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and provide leadership to the Team.
