**Financial Operations Manager**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and longevity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of the financial landscape for education and its implications for our organization.
  • Provide bookkeeping and management accounting services to our schools and departments.
  • Produce monthly management accounts for senior management, department heads, and governing boards.
  • Undertake accurate accounting, monitoring, and forecasting to facilitate effective financial decision-making.
  • Support finance leads with accounting/system queries and provide guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior finance staff to address finance-related knowledge gaps across the organization.
  • Assist in the annual budget setting process, offering support and challenge as needed.
  • Prepare for the annual external audit of our statutory consolidated accounts.
  • Stay informed about funding and legislative changes in the education sector, offering strategic financial insight.
  • Ensure adherence to financial procedures, controls, and policies.
  • Visit schools and departments regularly to deliver accounting services and develop a good working knowledge of our operations.
  • Contribute to organizational policy, planning, and the development of systems, policies, and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial management within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and management accounting practices.
  • Ability to produce high-quality monthly management accounts.
  • Knowledge of financial procedures, controls, and policies.
