We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and longevity of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness of the financial landscape for education and its implications for our organization.
- Provide bookkeeping and management accounting services to our schools and departments.
- Produce monthly management accounts for senior management, department heads, and governing boards.
- Undertake accurate accounting, monitoring, and forecasting to facilitate effective financial decision-making.
- Support finance leads with accounting/system queries and provide guidance.
- Collaborate with senior finance staff to address finance-related knowledge gaps across the organization.
- Assist in the annual budget setting process, offering support and challenge as needed.
- Prepare for the annual external audit of our statutory consolidated accounts.
- Stay informed about funding and legislative changes in the education sector, offering strategic financial insight.
- Ensure adherence to financial procedures, controls, and policies.
- Visit schools and departments regularly to deliver accounting services and develop a good working knowledge of our operations.
- Contribute to organizational policy, planning, and the development of systems, policies, and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in financial management within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and management accounting practices.
- Ability to produce high-quality monthly management accounts.
- Knowledge of financial procedures, controls, and policies.
