The Role: Peer Support Specialist - Crisis Intervention

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Support Specialist to join our Staying Well Brighton & Hove crisis service. This role is crucial in providing vital support to individuals experiencing mental health crises during evenings and weekends.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions to clients facing mental health crises, utilizing the Peer Support Model.
  • Build strong rapport with clients, fostering a safe and trusting environment for open communication.
  • Actively listen to clients' experiences, validate their feelings, and empower them to explore solutions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the crisis team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative peer support initiatives.

Your Qualifications:

  • Personal lived experience of mental health challenges, coupled with a genuine desire to support others.
  • A strong understanding of mental health principles and practices.
