Catering Operations Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Support Specialist to join our team at Kirklees Council. As an Area Support Officer - Catering Operations, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a responsive and customer-focused catering service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of new service developments and initiatives across the catering service.
- Work with unit managers and supervisors to develop and implement cost-saving strategies and improve budgeting and cost control.
- Prepare, produce, and serve meals in excess of 200 meals with the support of a team.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and food allergy legislation, and provide meals for a range of special dietary requirements.
- Travel across a range of sites in Kirklees, with frequent visits to our HQ in Huddersfield.
Requirements
- Practical knowledge and experience in a range of catering operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety and food allergy legislation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
