Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled engineer specializing in fuel systems to become a vital part of our Hydrogen Team, located in Filton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Airbus fuel team within the Fluid Mechanics Systems domain, working alongside other Fuel System Engineers and stakeholders, including Certification specialists, Procurement, and Vendors.
  • Lead and manage Project Management tasks, ensuring thorough reviews of deliverables from Suppliers.
  • Evaluate new functionalities within the Valves Team, addressing new and modified system requirements, and communicate these to suppliers.
  • Facilitate phase reviews and Validation and Verification activities, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards, focusing on actuated valves and redundancy, while monitoring for failures and leaks, adhering to established processes and procedures.
  • Oversee and coordinate the ATA28 system contributions to Design Reviews, including Process Assurance.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design drivers, system architectures, and test outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of Certification standards and innovative fuel system architectures for future Hydrogen-powered aircraft.
  • Lead and conduct trade studies for liquid hydrogen fuel systems.

Additional Responsibilities:
As part of consultancy efforts, provide support beyond the Controls & Indication Hydrogen scope, including bid activities and assistance to Airbus Protect's broader portfolio in Safety and Sustainability.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification in systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer, particularly in fluid systems and equipment design.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Background in aircraft fuel systems design within the Fluid Mechanics domain.
  • Expertise in systems-based engineering, including requirements management and Validation & Verification through to certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with liquid hydrogen systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools, including DOORS, is a plus.
