Job Description

About the Role

The Martin James Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fundraising Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for identifying, researching, and developing fundraising initiatives to support our global projects and EPIC mentoring programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure funding from various sources, including trusts, corporates, institutional donors, and individual major donors.
  • Research and write proposals to obtain funding, including public sector tenders and bids.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential supporters, including donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to develop content and fundraising materials.
  • Work closely with Programme colleagues to understand project requirements and develop informed discussions with donors.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, applications, feedback, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to quarterly reporting to the Board of Trustees.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in fundraising, preferably in a charity or non-profit organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written English presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in the best interests of children and young people.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to evidence practical application of IT skills.
  • Commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role with an expected 1-2 days per week in our Birmingham office and other days working from home. We are open to discussing alternative arrangements to support flexible working patterns.
