About the Role

Ripple Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team of educators in the Peterlee area. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social development of children in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide High-Quality Support: Assist teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children.
  • Facilitate Active Participation: Support the school staff in facilitating the active participation of children in academic and social activities, contributing to raising standards of achievement for all pupils.
  • Implement Daily Routine: Assist in implementing the daily routine, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the school.
  • Plan and Implement Activities: When directed, plan and implement age-appropriate activities in conjunction with other staff, promoting a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist with Personal Care: Assist children with personal and intimate care, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Evaluate and Record Progress: Regularly evaluate children's development and keep records as appropriate, as directed by the teacher.
  • Liaise with Parents/Carers: Liaise with parents/carers of children, only when directed by a school's class teacher.
  • Uphold Safeguarding Requirements: Uphold the Ripple Education ethos and all safeguarding requirements, ensuring children are supervised at all times.
  • Provide a High-Quality Environment: Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children at each stage of development.
Requirements
  • Right to Work in the UK: Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 2 References: Must have a minimum of 2 references.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance: Must have enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / Level 6 Qualification - Degree: Must have a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / Level 6 Qualification - Degree.
  • Experience Working in a Primary School: Must have experience working in a primary school.
