About the Role:
As a Sales Director, you will play a key role in the business development and sales effort, targeting companies and acquiring new business. You will be responsible for:
- Developing a thorough understanding of products and services, and effectively communicating these offerings to prospective customers
- Prospecting new business opportunities primarily across pre-agreed sectors
- Relationship management of our client's client base, to maximise service and revenue opportunities
- Building and maintaining a strong and up-to-date pipeline and prospect list
- Executing face-to-face meetings, pitches with C-suite audiences, and ensuring timely follow-up
- Oversight of sales executives, leading by example, driving successful outcomes, and supporting them in their knowledge and development
- Building out a network of primary sales sectors
- Logging and tracking opportunities and activities via Salesforce
- Undertaking analysis of potential clients to determine those which will deliver the greatest potential value, whilst retaining and enhancing the value of existing clients
- Contributing to the sales strategy in terms of market and client segmentation analysis, as well as profiling and researching existing and potential accounts
- Liaising closely with the Sales Team and Sector Managing Directors to agree individual sales plans
- Representing our client at industry conferences to network, acquire sector knowledge, build new leads, and sustain client relationships
About You:
We are looking for a senior, strategic Sales Director with a proven track record in new business development and an understanding of the Investor Relations landscape. You will have:
- A proven track record in high productivity and meeting targets and deadlines
- The ability to excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to gain respect of senior management and external executives
- An understanding of capital markets, highly desirable
- The ability to rapidly build trust and credibility with prospective and existing clients
- Line management and/or mentoring experience of less experienced sales personnel
- Competency with internet and mobile technologies
- Persistent, ambitious, and deft at problem-solving
What We Offer:
Our client is offering a competitive base salary of c.£80-85k, with benefits and OTE to be discussed at interview.
