About the Role

Rethink Mental Illness is a leading charity provider of mental health services in England, dedicated to helping those severely impacted by mental illness. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with mental illness, drawing on your own lived experience of recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative and creative support services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service users, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, ensuring they are trauma-informed and responsive to the needs of our community.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Lived experience of recovery from mental illness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with others.
  • Knowledge of the 'trauma-informed' model of support.
  • Experience of working with individuals with mental illness.
  • Ability to travel around Gloucestershire.
