As a Fostering Review Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the welfare and well-being of vulnerable children and young people in foster care.

Your key responsibilities will include chairing fostering reviews, ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard, and promoting their rights and interests. You will also be responsible for writing meaningful letters to children and young people, capturing the minutes of meetings in a child-centred way, and reporting on the progress of foster homes.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to undertake Reg 44 visits to residential homes owned by Southwark Council, working closely with our social work teams to ensure the highest standards of care and support for children and young people.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a recognized social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have at least 5 years of post-qualifying experience in children and families, ideally with management experience.

You will also need to have knowledge of key legislation and guidance, including the Fostering Regulations and those related to looked-after children, family court processes, communication with children, and children's rights.
