Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of HCPC Registered and unregistered staff, ensuring the operational delivery of a Children's Social Care Service in accordance with legislation and local policies.
  • Staff Development: Enable and challenge others to develop their knowledge base and skills, making evidence-based judgements and improving independent decision-making regarding risk.
  • Performance Management: Manage a team, including individual performance management and professional development of staff, establishing regular individual and group supervision arrangements, mentoring, and coaching staff.
  • Policy and Procedure: Keep up-to-date with good practice guidance, current legislation, government initiatives, and local policies and procedures, playing a lead role in disseminating these within the team.
  • Reporting and Communication: Write complex reports and briefing papers on policy and operational issues, actively participating in meetings, case conferences, or task forces, service, and project management groups.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the safety of staff, clients, and others is considered at all times, being aware of health and safety within the workplace and safety systems, risk assessments, and safety audits.

Requirements:

  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Management qualification at least at Level 4.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.
