Job Title: Children's Safeguarding Specialist Nurse/Lead Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Safeguarding Specialist Nurse/Lead Trainer to join our dynamic safeguarding team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of safe and effective services to safeguard vulnerable children across Hertfordshire.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining a high level of Safeguarding Children Training offer across the service and driving key improvements across the service. You will provide expertise and knowledge demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues relating to the identification, assessment and treatment, management of vulnerable children and families.

You will be responsible for providing clinical support and guidance to staff within the hospital and community setting, including supporting staff in formulating appropriate, quality referrals to social care, case management and supervision, and actively participating in the on-call child protection medical rota.

The role will work in collaboration with the Named Nurse and in accordance with the Government guidance "Working Together to Safeguard Children" on behalf of the Trust to ensure staff are aware of and implement safeguarding children's legislation, policies and procedures, and signposting staff to resources appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise and knowledge in all aspects of safeguarding children in the acute and community setting
  • Maintain a high level of Safeguarding Children Training offer across the service
  • Drive key improvements across the service
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to staff within the hospital and community setting
  • Support staff in formulating appropriate, quality referrals to social care, case management and supervision
  • Actively participate in the on-call child protection medical rota
  • Work in collaboration with the Named Nurse and in accordance with the Government guidance "Working Together to Safeguard Children"
