Job Overview

UKCIL is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Personal Assistant to support a 14-year-old son with autism, ADHD, and cognitive delay. The successful candidate will provide assistance with daily activities, social interactions, and emotional support to help the individual build confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany the individual on days out and activities in the community
  • Supervise and ensure the individual's safety at all times
  • Use strategies to distract and encourage the individual when feeling less confident
  • Set clear boundaries and expectations of behavior
  • Encourage appropriate social interactions with peers and adults
  • Assist with transportation and access to activities

Requirements

  • Understanding of autism, ADHD, and cognitive delay
  • Ability to provide emotional support and reassurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends

Training and Support

Working Hours and Pay

  • 4 hours per week, Term Time
  • 6 hours per week, School Holidays
