Child Care Department Overview:

Our Child Care Department is highly regarded, featuring a team recognized for its expertise in child care law. We provide comprehensive legal assistance in various child care matters, including representation for guardians, parents, and family members. Our specialized team offers expert advice to both adoptive and birth parents, and we also support same-sex couples with child care arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Department Director.
  • Maintain a professional and proactive approach, demonstrating strong client care skills.
  • Assist with casework involving a variety of public and private child care cases, including child abduction and adoption matters.
  • Engage with clients, gather instructions, and prepare legal cases.
  • Manage correspondence effectively.
  • Ensure accurate time costing procedures are followed.
  • Implement recommendations from monthly file reviews promptly.
  • Adhere to compliance standards in file management.
Essential Skills:
  • Demonstrated passion and experience in publicly funded Child Care Law.
  • Strong academic background with a Law degree.
  • Relevant legal experience as a Child Care Paralegal or Advisor.
  • Clear understanding of Children Laws and their application.
  • Business acumen with the ability to promote the firm.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse individuals.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • A committed team player, self-motivated and professional.
  • Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and document management.
