Job Overview

The Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust CAMHS Crisis Home Treatment Team operates as a 24/7 service, providing critical support to children and young people with mental health difficulties.

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team, working within the home treatment part of the service. The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in Nursing, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified practitioner to progress their career, working with children and young people who require mental health support. The Home Treatment arm of the service operates 08.00 hours, seven days a week, and the post holder will be required to work full-time (37.5 hours) on an internal rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide home treatment interventions for children, young people, and their families, up to 18 years.
  • Work flexibly across the city and county, visiting young people within the community.
  • Collaborate with the senior mental health practitioners in the effective management of a community caseload.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective clinical decision-making, internally and with external agencies.
  • Empower Service Users and their families/carers to influence and use available services, information, and skills, and act as an advocate where appropriate.
  • Provide a professional, non-stigmatising service to children and families.
  • Adhere to Trust Policies in consideration of Children in Need and safeguarding issues, and maintain accurate and effective written records.
  • Participate in management and clinical supervision, attend case discussion and reflective practice, and in-house training (when on duty).
