Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Valuer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. as we work closely with a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Senior Valuer on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Professional Advice: Offer expert guidance and input on the management of residential, retail, commercial, and industrial property, with a focus on District and Local Shopping Centres.
  • Staff Management: Manage staff working under the postholder through procedural control, including key result areas, staff appraisal techniques, and case allocation.
  • Valuation Work: Ensure that valuation work undertaken by staff is in accordance with the Statutory Code, CIPFA, and RICS Practice Statements and Guidance Notes, as well as the Council's standing orders, financial regulations, codes, and practices.
  • Leasing and Renewals: Assess and undertake the leasing and renewal of leases for primarily retail, commercial, industrial, and non-operational property.
  • Rent Reviews: Undertake valuations for rent review, analyze market evidence, initiate, negotiate, and implement rent reviews to maximize the Council's rental income.

Requirements:

  • Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Professional Membership: Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (General Practice) with at least 2 years (preferred 5) relevant post-qualification experience, including asset valuations, acquisition management, and disposal casework.
  • Commercial and Residential Experience: Experience of dealing with commercial and residential development.
