We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Psychiatric Consultant to join our esteemed team at Nouvita. This role is crucial in leading our specialized psychiatric units and ensuring the delivery of exceptional mental health care.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be an influential leader within our organization, responsible for fostering a supportive and professional environment. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary management team to uphold the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Psychiatric Consultant, your duties will include:
- Collaborating with clinical colleagues to develop a comprehensive treatment service that addresses various mental health challenges.
- Overseeing a defined caseload of patients, ensuring their psychiatric care is prioritized and effectively managed.
- Building strong relationships with the multidisciplinary team, including the Medical Director and Clinical Services Manager.
- Providing mentorship and clinical supervision to fellow psychiatrists, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Representing Nouvita at local and national levels, enhancing our profile and establishing connections with key stakeholders.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluations to enhance patient care.
- Leading educational and health promotion activities within the Mental Health Service.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Approved Clinician status.
- Membership in the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) with good standing in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
Experience
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of five years' experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
- Experience working in Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Acute Services.
- Proven ability to make independent clinical decisions and demonstrate leadership.
Knowledge and Skills
Ideal candidates will have:
- In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Current knowledge of Mental Health Act (MHA) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize clinical needs.
