Job Title: Band 5/6 Mental Health Practitioner/Senior Mental Health Practitioners

We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Practitioners to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our First Point of Contact Centre, you will play a vital role in providing mental health support to individuals in need.

About the Role

As a Band 5/6 Mental Health Practitioner/Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for triaging mental health referrals, providing support and guidance to individuals, and directing them to the most appropriate service. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioners, Band 3 Call Handlers, and students, to develop their skills and provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage mental health referrals and provide support and guidance to individuals
  • Direct referrals to the most appropriate service
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop skills and provide high-quality care
  • Provide mental health support and guidance to individuals in need
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Practitioner status or Registered Practitioner with significant mental health experience
  • Demonstrable and significant post-qualification experience in mental health or related areas
  • Sound experience of first-line assessments, including assessment of risk
  • Excellent written and communication skills, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of agencies
