Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Development Director. This role will be responsible for defining and implementing business development strategies, owning key products, and leading sourcing and execution of reinsurance transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and revenue
  • Own key products and services, including reinsurance transactions and client relationships
  • Lead sourcing and execution of reinsurance transactions, including standalone and flow longevity swaps, funded re and acquisitions
  • Represent RGA in industry through thought leadership and relationship development with buyers of reinsurance, banks, consultants, and other external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with pricing, investment solutions, and other subject matter experts to drive business growth and revenue
  • Manage and prioritize market opportunities, respond to tenders and ad-hoc client queries, and drive strategy and progress
  • Develop and maintain relationships with primary clients, brokers, banks, and consultants, and own key client accounts
  • Gain market intelligence and insights, and communicate them to the wider team and senior internal stakeholders
  • Enhance RGA's reputation and brand in the market through presentations, articles, and other industry engagement
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in insurance, reinsurance, or finance, with a similar role
  • Experience in client-facing, sales, and structuring roles
  • Proven ability to lead deal teams through complex execution processes and negotiate with large clients on high-value transactions
  • Related degree or equivalent experience and professional qualification
  • Understanding of insurance accounting, tax, regulatory requirements, and investments
  • Ability to successfully manage teams with layers of management and influence key stakeholders internally and externally
