Position Overview
We are seeking applications from qualified HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists with a strong background in Immunology and Biochemistry.
The preferred candidate will possess a BSc in Biomedical Science or an equivalent qualification, be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Biomedical Scientist, and have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Immunology or demonstrate equivalent experience at band 6 level in the relevant area.
Candidates are expected to provide evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD) during the interview process. Those who are in the process of completing their Specialist Portfolio may be considered; however, they will initially start at band 5 until they meet the Specialist BMS criteria, at which point they will be promoted to a Specialist BMS upon successful completion of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a team operating within the various sections of a busy, fully automated Blood Sciences/Chemical Pathology Department. The role will also involve working at an additional laboratory site.
Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art analysers and standardised equipment across both locations.
The successful applicant will be expected to work across disciplines following appropriate training and will participate in the out-of-hours shift rota.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science accredited by the IBMS.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Relevant Specialist BMS Portfolio or Higher Specialist Portfolio.
Desirable Qualifications
