Lead the Transformation of Housing Services

As the Head of Housing and Support, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a range of critical housing services that directly impact the lives of Southwark's residents. Your key priority will be to ensure that these services are strategically aligned with both local and national policies, including compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Acts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the procurement and contract negotiations for external services, ensuring value for money and quality in service provision.
  • Collaborate with housing associations, government bodies, voluntary agencies, and other partners to create and integrate customer-focused housing services.
  • Work closely with the Director of Housing Needs and Support to implement early intervention strategies and deliver compassionate and effective support to residents.
  • Develop and implement effective homelessness and prevention services, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of housing legislation.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in housing needs, particularly within a large complex organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage large teams, lead policy development, and handle operational challenges.
  • Financial acumen, experience in procurement and contract management, and the ability to deliver resident-focused services.
  • Excellent communication and partnership building skills to work effectively with external organisations.
  • A passion for public service and commitment to social equity.
