Lead the Transformation of Housing Services

As the Head of Housing and Support, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing critical housing services that impact the lives of Southwark's residents. Your key priority will be to ensure these services are strategically aligned with local and national policies, including compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Acts.

Leading multi-disciplinary teams, you will foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. This includes managing procurement and contract negotiations for external services, such as temporary accommodation, to deliver value for money and quality in service provision.

You will work closely with the Director of Housing Needs and Support to implement early intervention strategies, ensuring we meet the rising demand and deliver compassionate and effective support to residents at their most vulnerable moments.

We are seeking a senior leader with substantial experience in housing needs, particularly within a large complex organisation. You will have an in-depth knowledge of housing legislation and a track record of implementing effective homelessness and prevention services. Strong leadership skills are essential, with the ability to manage large teams, lead policy development, and handle operational challenges.

Financial acumen, experience in procurement and contract management, and the ability to deliver resident-focused services are crucial. Excellent communication and partnership building skills are required to work effectively with external organisations.

A passion for public service, combined with a commitment to social equity, is central to this role. You will seek to inspire change, drive innovation, and champion improvement, ensuring Southwark's housing services meet the needs of our diverse communities.
