Job Title: Building Control Manager

CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Control Manager to lead our Building Control Services team.

About the Role:

This is a 3-month contract with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the delivery of our Building Control Services.

  • Provide inspirational leadership to a team of Building Control Surveyors to ensure the successful implementation and enforcement of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Deliver a risk-based operational strategy to ensure the Building Control service meets the demands of the Building Safety Regulator and Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Support the operational delivery outcomes and development of the Building Control function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Provide constructive leadership to create the conditions for success and work across organisational boundaries.
  • Performance: Work with management and colleagues to define outcomes, set targets, and monitor performance within a culture of continual improvement.
  • Business Development: Develop commercial activities and work with partner organisations to deliver building control contracts.
  • Commissioning: Commission services and activities to secure the best outcomes for service users and deliver optimum value for money.
  • Customers and Partners: Build strong internal and external working partnerships to deliver the service in an outcome-focused and efficient way.
  • Digital/New Ways of Working: Use new technologies to adopt modern agile working practices, improve customer service, and eliminate paper-based processes.
Essential Experience:
  • Experience of undertaking change management planning and implementing new ways of working in a complex environment.
  • Experience of the Building Regulations to verify that proposed designs and building work comply with these regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) at Class 3 and Class 4.
  • Chartered Building Surveyor: MRICS (desirable).
  • Relevant degree in Building Surveying/Construction.
Additional Information:
  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
