Jameson Legal is seeking a talented individual to join our esteemed Financial Services Regulatory team. This role is tailored for a mid to senior level non-contentious Lawyer who is eager to contribute to a well-respected and stable practice.

This position offers a unique chance for an accomplished FS Regulatory Lawyer to take the lead on client engagements and establish themselves as the primary Senior Associate/Associate Director for regulatory expertise within the firm. You will have the opportunity to become the dedicated non-contentious specialist, collaborating with a team of experts in investigations and enforcement.

In this role, you will work closely with key Partners across various practices, including Litigation, Corporate, Finance Transactions, and Real Estate, delivering top-notch regulatory law counsel to our prominent clients. We encourage candidates with specific sub-sector or practice area specializations to enhance and expand their practices within our supportive environment. While experience in payment services and consumer credit is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive financial services regulatory guidance to a diverse array of institutions, such as investment banks, retail banks, investment managers, market infrastructure providers, and FinTech companies.
  • Provide advisory services to clients, both internally and externally, while collaborating effectively with other teams to secure optimal outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in advising on a wide range of financial services regulatory matters, including compliance, perimeter issues, asset management, regulatory changes, and transactional support.
  • A strong history of working on regulatory matters governed by English law.
  • Experience in advising UK regulated financial institutions on their compliance with regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to cultivate robust internal and external relationships.
  • A solid grasp of profitability drivers and a keen interest in broadening your understanding of commercial issues, the legal market, and their implications for the firm.
