Senior Mechanical CAD Engineer
Copello Global is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical CAD Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team, specializing in advanced maritime control and instrumentation systems. This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and concept design to thorough validation and qualification processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the selection, design, development, and analysis of mechanical systems and components across various Defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and evaluate mechanical part drawings and General Assemblies (GA) utilizing Creo Elements.
- Assist in the formulation and oversight of Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Offer mechanical engineering support to the Mechanical Design Engineering team.
- Establish and implement suitable Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards for mechanical designs.
- Determine and apply relevant standards, materials, and finishes in line with project specifications.
- Maintain and update documentation and drawings throughout the development and production phases.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in using Creo Elements.
- In-depth understanding of GD&T and BS 8888 standards.
- Strong familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Extensive experience in a Mechanical CAD role.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in regulated industries such as automotive, aviation, defence, or rail.
- Familiarity with Windchill PLM software.
Note: Candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance for this position.
